The question of The Ardennes Monster remains. I have experienced inner monsters at times : fears of what might happen. Also, monsters that seem to dominate our world temporarily, such as competition, selfishness, power – but also the division into winners and losers.

If the cycling event “The Ardennes Monster” contributes to us reflecting on the monsters within ourselves and in the world and leaving them behind to embark on a more just and solidarity-driven world, then I have long reconciled with the name of this loving and beautiful event.
